How to hook up a surround sound and blu-ray player together?
I purchased a Panasonic SC-PT960 home theater system (5-disk dvd player) and a Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-Ray player. The television I have is a Vizio VP322 32" plasma. I'd like to hook up both home theater system and Blu-Ray unit to the tv for best sound/picture, but how do I do that? Both the home theater system and Blu-Ray player has only one HDMI hook-up. The television has 3, but not sure how to make both of them work. If someone can help me get this all set-up for best quality in both sound and video, please tell me! Thanks!
Well number one...you didn't need the 5-disc player because a Blu-Ray player back converts and plays all DVDs. Unless it is a built in receiver with the surround sound outputs. If it is you need to go HDMI to the receiver input from the Blu-Ray and hopefully it has HDMI switching capabilities. The receiver should play whatever inputs you are sending in to one HDMI output. Otherwise you just need to buy a different receiver and the Blu-Ray player and let it play all your movies.
